Sejak beberapa bulan lalu ketika sedang menuju ke UNIQLO, saya beberapa kali melewati sebuah tempat yang masih under construction yang tertulis bernama Benedict dan berada di bawah Union Group. Akhirnya beberapa waktu lalu tempat ini dibukan juga, dan langsung dipenuhi pengunjung. Saya sendiri baru sempat datang ke Benedict tadi siang, dan di hari kerja seperti hari ini, sayapun harus masuk ke dalam waiting list untuk mendapatkan meja. Sekitar 15 menit setelah saya mencantumkan nama di waiting list, pihak Benedict pun menelepon saya untuk menginformasikan bahwa meja telah tersedia.
Area dalam Benedict terbagi menjadi smoking area dan non smoking area yang tidak berpenyekat. Ruangannya agak gelap, dengan tempat duduk berupa meja dan bangku-bangku kayu yang kesemuanya terisi.
Dari sebelum tempat ini dibuka, saya menduga bahwa Benedict menyajikan menu-menu all day breakfast, salah satunya egg benedict. Dan memang benar Benedict menawarkan menu seputar all day breakfast, juga menu mains lainnya serta menu dinner dan dessert.
So, these were what we tasted at Benedict.

Korean Bowl ini terdiri dari nasi, 3 jenis pork (or grilled beef steak), 7-minutes egg, cauliflower, furikake, serta kimchi. I love this Korean Bowl, the portion and taste were equally nice. 3 jenis porknya terdiri dari chashu, samgyeopsal, dan pork bacon, and all of them were delicious. Rasa nasinya seperti bibimpap dan memang menu ini juga disajikan dalam stone bowl.

Benedict serves 4 kind of egg benedicts: Classic, Florentine, Mexican, Southern. The one that I tried, Florentine, consisted of challah bread on the bottom, sauteed baby spinach, poached egg, dill-cured salmon, hollandaise sauce, and tobiko on the top.

The Florentine was good. You got the prettily runny egg yolk when you cut the poached egg, and every other components of the dish completed each other well.

For drink, I tried their Berry Powerful smoothies, a mix of blueberry, mango, vanilla ice cream, hazelnut milk, yoghurt.

The Berry Powerful didn't taste that powerful but pretty nice, a bit milky, not too sweet, with a bit sour taste from the yoghurt.

Lastly, dessert! Saya mencoba Banoffee Pie yang namanya diambil dari kata banana dan toffee. The pie was overall nice, strong banana taste, delicious sauce, and the pie crust was lovely.

Overall, I love the food here, but I would prefer to come on a less crowded hour, since we got limited time to sit in such a rush hour. Price wise, quite pricey with 10% service charge, but I think it's 'quite' normal to spend around IDR 350K for two nowadays, at least once in a while.
